For and By the Community: Tarnagulla’s Resilience Action Plan

The Tarnagulla community created their Resilience Action Plan; emphasising five key areas.

The Tarnagulla Resilience Action Plan 2020 was created for and by the local community of Tarnagulla.

Tarnagulla is a small town on Dja Dja Wurrung Country in Central Victoria. Like many other rural towns, the town faces many challenges. To not leave their future to chance and proactively do something about it, the community employed the services of Dr Mittul Vahanvati from RMIT’s Centre for Urban Research, to help create their Resilience Action Plan, funded a Climate Change Innovation grant from the Victorian State Government in 2017.

During its launch in September 2020, the community showcased their approach, their personal and collective journey through this project, and the final actions developed for building resilience.

Now they are moving on to implementing their plan.
